After Erev Rosh Hashanah services, families and friends come together to share traditional foods like apples dipped in honey, representing our collective wish for a sweet year.
This holiday also initiates the Ten Days of Teshuvah, a period of deep introspection and self-improvement leading to Yom Kippur. We encourage everyone to participate in prayer, song, and acts of kindness that set the tone for the year ahead.

Tashlich is a centuries-old ritual that occurs during the Days of Awe, typically on Rosh Hashanah afternoon. At CBSRZ, our community walks (or drives) together to the nearby Connecticut river where we board a small ferry and cast cracked corn into the flowing waters below. symbolically discarding our misdeeds or regrets. The flowing current carries these remnants away, reminding us that we can confront our shortcomings and work to improve.
