Deepen Your Commitment at Confirmation
Makom is our 10th-grade Confirmation pathway. Teens expand Jewish understanding through study, social action, and reflection, culminating in a Confirmation ceremony that reaffirms their place in the Jewish community.
10th: Makom / Confirmation
Makom (Hebrew for “place”) is our Confirmation program for tenth graders, providing a dedicated space for teens to deepen their Jewish knowledge and personal commitment. Led by our Rabbi, sessions explore advanced topics in Jewish theology, history, and social justice. Regular discussions, guest speakers, and community service projects help participants connect sacred teachings to contemporary issues in their own lives.
The experience culminates in a special Confirmation ceremony, where students share personal reflections and affirm their ongoing relationship with Jewish tradition. By completing Makom, teens emerge with a more mature, nuanced understanding of their heritage, ready to assume greater responsibility and leadership in the synagogue and the broader world.
