Stepping into Jewish Adulthood

A Bet Mitzvah marks a young person’s transition into adult Jewish life. Through study, service participation, and community involvement, students gain deeper connection to faith and identity.

Bet Mitzvah

Becoming a Bet Mitzvah is a pivotal milestone for Jewish youth, signaling the beginning of responsible participation in Jewish communal life and, as such, a person who is obligated to fulfill the mitzvot. At CBSRZ, our program prepares students through Hebrew instruction, Torah study, and hands-on learning about Jewish history, traditions, and ethics. Leading the congregation in prayer, reading from the Torah, and delivering a d’var Torah fosters confidence and a personal sense of accomplishment.

This journey also includes a Mitzvah project, underscoring our commitment to making the world a better place. Families work closely with clergy and educators to craft a meaningful ceremony that reflects each child’s individuality. The result is a profound celebration of growth, identity, and Jewish continuity.
