Vasily Kafanov Art Opening Reception

A new art exhibition at CBSRZ, Memory of a Shtetl, by Russian-born painter Vasily Kafanov, opens on November 8th. Kafanov’s style of painting mainly involves the depth of life in different forms.

In the late 1990s, he met Billy Corgan, the lead singer of The Smashing Pumpkins and later was offered to create the cover of their 2000 release Machina, which he believes is one of his best works in his entire career.

Kafanov will be giving an artist’s talk at 3 pm at the November 8th reception. The exhibition will be available for viewing through January 2027; please contact the office to schedule a visit.

Advance RSVP requested for the opening reception; walk-ins accepted with identification.
