“See the World Through My Lens” Fine Art Photography Exhibition

A new photography exhibition by Beth Green, showcases works spanning a decades-long career that has taken her from athlete locker rooms to royal courts.

Green, a traditional film and digital photographer who interned under Ansel Adams and Minor White at MIT, favors natural light and in-camera composition over digital manipulation. “Light is my paintbrush and the tool for my artistic license,” she says. “There is nothing new in the world – it is how you choose to arrange it.”

Early in her career, Green broke ground as the first woman to photograph professional athletes in their locker rooms. She went on to work as a United Press International staffer and Newsweek photo editor, capturing images of Queen Elizabeth, Pope John Paul II, and multiple U.S. presidents. Her portfolio also includes an award-winning 1977 shot of Philadelphia Phillies player Larry Bowa mid-play. Today, her focus has shifted to fine art photography.

Green, who lives in Chester and Manhattan and runs Beth Green Studios, Inc., has taught photography at Rutgers, Fordham, and the New York Institute of Photography.
