Want to experience Shabbat?
Friday, March 1, 2024
Whether you celebrate Shabbat regularly or want to learn how to enrich your home Shabbat celebration, all are invited to experience its joy at CBSRZ on Friday, March 1st as we celebrate Shabbat Across America. Shabbat, the weekly Jewish day of rest, is when families gather together to observe a traditional service and enjoy a festive meal.
A wine and cheese reception begins at 6:00 pm followed by a traditional family Shabbat dinner with side dishes contributed by congregation members and the main entrees provided by our CBSRZ salmon poachers, Ed Pinn and Susan Peck, and pasta dishes, salad and bread generously donated by Alforno’s. Rabbi Bellows and Cantor Belinda Brennan will lead an interactive Shabbat service with all the rituals explained.
Capping the evening will be a Oneg Shabbat when all are invited to join in the fellowship and enjoy an array of homemade desserts provided by congregation members.
This special Shabbat Across America celebration is free of charge and open to the community, but advance registration is required. For more information, call the CBSRZ office 860.526.8920.
Security Measures: We will have visible police and security presence. All guests are required to RSVP in advance and will be required to sign-in upon arrival. Unless it is absolutely necessary, please do not bring large bags or backpacks; bags will be subject to inspection by a local law officer or by our private security guard.
