Shoreline Soup Kitchens and Pantries
CBSRZ has been a partner of the Shoreline Soup Kitchens and Pantries for many years. Our congregants volunteer at local meal sites, donate food weekly, and support our annual High Holiday Food Drive. In March of 2008 we added a “stuff-a-truck” event at the Stop & Shop in Old Saybrook.
The Shoreline Soup Kitchens & Pantries' mission is an interfaith ministry that provides food and fellowship to people in need and educates our communities about hunger and poverty. Founded in 1989, at the Baptist Church in Essex, Connecticut, the agency continues in its mission to feed the hungry in body and spirit.
The Shoreline Soup Kitchens & Pantries offer food and fellowship to the communities of Chester, Clinton, Deep River, East Lyme, Essex, Killingworth, Lyme, Madison, Old Lyme, Old Saybrook and Westbrook.

The four food pantries distribute approximately 50,000 pounds of food each month and it all needs to be bagged.
They are hoping to use reusable shopping bags to end their reliance on plastic and paper shopping bags.
Please consider donating a reusable shopping bag to the Shoreline Soup Kitchens and Pantries. They may be left in donation basket located in the vestibule of the synagogue.
